"Notes" of An Elder ― 6.6.25
The strength of a team and family lies in its ability to navigate life's complexities together, supporting one another through the highs and lows.
Nothing in life is of any value unless it is shared with others.
"Notes" of An Elder is a depository of pertinent information, knowledge and wisdom. Available weekly will be an elder's "thinking menu" for your use. Enjoy this bounty.

People talk about their personal life and their professional life as if they are two separate entities. But the fact of the matter is that we only have one life. It's all connected, whether we want to admit it or not. How we live our lives at home affects how we show up at work.
The quality of our work life affects how we are as a spouse, parent, and guardian.
The strength of a team and family lies in its ability to navigate life's complexities together, supporting one another through the highs and lows.
Trust is the foundation of any relationship.
Success in any endeavor, whether personal or professional, requires a support system. You need to surround yourself with people who uplift you, challenge you, and help you grow.
The notion of a "self-made" person is a myth. Success is never achieved in isolation. Each of us is the sum of our surroundings—the influences, environments, family, and friends that shape us.
Behind every successful individual is a network of people who have supported, guided, and uplifted them at every turn.

To Build Our Team
Just because a family or team shares the same space doesn’t mean they’re growing in the same direction.

Deliberate Effort – Showing up with intention, not just presence
Consistent Communication – Speaking openly, listening deeply
Shared Commitment – Prioritizing collective well-being over individual convenience
Building together is a choice—one made every day.

It's worth noting that there are many great coaches, athletes, business leaders, and even world leaders who are so focused on changing the world and making an impact on others that they often neglect the most important impact—the one on their own family.
One might be influencing thousands or even millions of people, but what about their children, their spouse, or their grandchildren?
Our family, loved ones, and friends who matter most—and the impact we have on them—is far more significant than any public achievement.
In the end, we are a reflection of the support and guidance we receive from the countless individuals who shape our lives. Our achievements are not isolated milestones but rather the culmination of relationships, environments, and communities that nurture us.
As you contemplate your own path, remember this: You were made for connection. You were made to be part of a team—whether it's a family by blood, a family by choice, or both.
