Sunday Thinking

Being uncommon is the beginning of a new life ― be the reason someone feels welcomed, seen, heard, valued, and loved.

The weekly Sunday Thinking newsletter is quick-hit content that aims to provide a booster shot to your thought process as you end and start your week.

"It's never too late to change your mind. To start again. To begin a new career. To focus on your health. To dream bigger dreams. To say sorry. To find love. To educate yourself. To slow down. To notice the beauty around you. To say I love you. To forgive. To love yourself a little more. To walk away. To make a wish. It's never too late. If you're thirty, sixty or beyond, it's still not too late. It's never too late to discover more about yourself. It's never too late to be more you, than ever before."

― Lisa Buscomb, Wildy Deserving

I. To Live On Purpose

Purpose is fundamental and gives life meaning. Purpose is what moves us. It is the conscious choice of what, where, and how to make a positive contribution to our world.

There are three essential tasks to unlocking purpose. To live on purpose, we must:

  • Unlock our story.

  • Unlock our gifts.

  • Unlock our curiosity.

Many people die with their music still in them. Our “music” is a metaphor for the quality or passion around which we choose to express our gifts. Once we discover our music and what moves us ― life takes on a new energy.

II. The Power of Now

11 ways to make the most of 2023:

  • Let yourself evolve

  • Respect your need to rest

  • Throw away perfectionism

  • Focus on small steps forward

  • Spend time with rejuvenating people

  • Experiencing ups and downs is normal

  • Give your energy to a handful of goals

  • Say no if your intuition is not saying yes

  • Reconnect with gratitude on a daily basis

  • Let go of the craving to control everything

  • Remember that growth is hard but worth it

III. Don't Wait To Be Kind

As a leader and positive difference maker, you never really know the true impact you have on those around you.

  • You never know how much someone needed that smile you gave them.

  • You never know how much your kindness turned someone’s entire life around.

  • You never know how much someone needed that long hug or deep talk.

So don’t wait to be kind. Don’t wait for someone else to be kind first. Don’t wait for better circumstances or for someone to change. Just be kind, because you never know how much someone needs it.

IV. What We’re Excited About

The ideal sleeping position is on the side, but without the proper support, a good morning is not in the forecast. With an adjustable design, the Marlow Pillow adapts to give side sleepers the support they need. It's made with a proprietary fill of memory foam and polyester fiber made using NASA technology and a unique zippered design for easy adjustability, allowing users to find the exact loft profile that fits them.

At the same time, cooling-infused memory foam and ventilated zipper gussets help create better airflow and regulate your body temperature, so you stay cool during the night, while its antimicrobial shell repels unwelcomed guests like dust mites and bacteria.

The pillow has been perfected over eight years with numerous research, surveys, and prototypes, but to ensure satisfaction, it's also backed by Brooklinen's best-in-class customer service and a risk-free warranty.

V. Question

What is something wonderful about your life that you rarely appreciate as much as you should?

VII. This Week, I Will

  1. Not wait to be kind.

  2. Engage in real conversations.

  3. Allow myself to start and start again.

  4. Live in my truth and trust the consistency.

  5. Not become a prisoner to things I can’t change.

The Last Words…

"It takes bravery to break old habits, to turn to the voice inside of your own head and say: I will not let you speak to me that way. It takes courage to sit down and have a conversation with your mistakes. Growth is uncomfortable; it's slow and rarely steady, but I promise you that nothing in full bloom will ever tell you that the struggle wasn't worth it. Take a moment to realize just how far you've come. Look at all the bridges you've crossed, everything you've done. There were times you thought the world was ending, and you still held on to see it through. And I know you don't give yourself credit for the little things, but there is strength in those things too. Try to remember that that forever is only the sum of right nows. You will never have everything figured out. Life is allowed to look like a renaissance piece and a work in progress at exactly the same time. Don't wait until the day is perfect to look up and watch the sunrise."
