Sunday Thinking

"Blooming even in stillness. The shifts you don’t see and the growth you don’t feel is still progress."

The weekly Sunday Thinking newsletter is quick-hit content that aims to provide a booster shot to your thought process as you end and start your week.

"Talent is helpful but success really comes from determination. Being able to keep going even when you face big challenges is what sets people apart. This happens in a wide variety of fields, like writing, art, sports, new businesses, etc. Even if others may initially have more talent than you, if they cannot face the fact that success is rarely immediate, they will stop working towards their goal. Be aware that the perception of others having more talent than you is probably imposter syndrome playing tricks on your mind. Even if you are not the best at something, if you apply determination, you will eventually develop a great level of skill. Skill that emerges from dedicated practice often surpasses uncultivated talent."

I. The Art of Alignment

Strong relationships don’t need agreement. They need alignment.

  • Agreement is having identical opinions. Alignment is having shared values.

  • Agreement is taking the same path. Alignment is heading in the same direction.

Closeness is a matter of commitment, not consensus.

II. The Power of Enough

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.

  • It turns what we have into enough, and more.

  • It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.

  • It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.

III. Lessons from Living

This year taught me:

  • That pushing through on your own on some days may show your fortitude and resilience, but sometimes real strength looks like asking for a helping hand if you can’t carry the weight on your own. Being honest with yourself is how you move mountains.

  • That perfectionism will poison the flowers growing in your garden but authenticity finds ways to water them. Showing up unapologetically takes the handcuffs off your spirit and keeps you in line with your truth regardless of how uncomfortable it may feel.

  • That stillness is a blessing and so is solitude. Making time to sit with your thoughts and check in with you is how you reclaim yourself and heal your wounds. Alone never becomes lonely when you’re working on the friendship you should have with yourself.

VI. This Week, I Will

  1. Slow down.

  2. Protect my vision.

  3. Say “Thank You” often.

  4. Disconnect to reconnect.

  5. Grow through everything I go through.

The Last Words…

"Please write your story and protect your vision. It's necessary. Now more than ever, I hope you lean into your truth, your storytelling, and your craft. Sharing your story can heal a life, a heart, and a soul that feels lost. It can build community connections and cultivate deep joy. Sometimes, we are each other's permission to live freely and fully. Leading and living by example is a blessing in more ways than one. Don't shy away from your gifts, even if people don't understand. They don't have to. Not being for everybody is a blessing."
