The weekly Sunday Thinking newsletter is quick-hit content that aims to provide a booster shot to your thought process as you end and start your week.

"Once you understand the power of your words, you won't just say anything. Once you understand the power of your thoughts, you won't just think anything. And once you understand the power of your presence, you won't just be anywhere. Know your worth."

I. Mastery of the Mundane

At the end of every day, you look in the mirror and ask yourself, "Did I get better today?"

  • And if the answer is yes and you do that for 5 years, 10 years, 15 years ― how much better are you going to be?

Are you getting better every single day? That's the question.

  • And it's just taking small steps. You don't try to get it all done in 1 day, 1 week, or 1 year.

It's the process of getting better every day and doing that for a period of years that then creates the masterpiece.

II. Navigating the Tension Within

One of the most toxic ideas that grips our minds is perfection.

  • We expect it, we crave it, we wish to see it in our lives and relationships, but reality and the idea of perfection are in a constant state of friction. Reality is ever-changing. It is transformation combined with unpredictability.

  • Perfection is the opposite. It is an attempt to control and keep things within the boundaries of a certain mental image.

  • Reality is a flowing river. Perfection is a static painting.

Especially when it comes to our personal growth and the quality of our relationships, perfection has a sneaky way of warping our perception so that great things seem less than they really are, and small problems seem unnecessarily large.

  • Those of us who wish to live a good life not only need to have the humility to question our perception.

  • But we should also periodically check in with ourselves to see if perfection has created tension by taking the reins of our mind.

III. On Trust and Growth

Trust isn't only about people being loyal to you.

  • It's also about them being honest with you.

The higher you climb, the more you need to be challenged.

  • Flattery feels good, but doesn't help you do better.

Tune out people who feed your ego. Tune in voices that fuel your growth.

VI. This Week, I Will

  1. Relax, my story is not finished.

  2. Remember, my energy is a gift. Protect it.

  3. Stop waiting for everything to be perfect to start.

  4. Focus on what is in front of me. One step at a time.

  5. Breathe. I don't have to have it all figured out right now.

The Last Words…

"You will never know if something is meant for you if you don't give it a proper chance. Whether it's a relationship, a new job, a new city, or a new experience, throw yourself into it completely and don't hold back. If it doesn't work out then it probably wasn't meant for you and you'll walk away without regret, knowing that you put your whole heart into it. That's all you can ever do. It's a horrible feeling leaving a situation knowing that you should have and could have done more. So I hope you find the courage to take that chance, find the inspiration to make your next move, and once you do, I hope you pour your heart into it and don't look back."
