Sunday Thinking

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass ― it's learning to dance in the rain."

The weekly Sunday Thinking newsletter is quick-hit content that aims to provide a booster shot to your thought process as you end and start your week.

“You're allowed to have off days. You're allowed to feel completely drained from all that is going on in your life and has been for awhile. You're allowed to take a break from responsibilities to take care of yourself. You're allowed to express your feelings how you need to. You should not feel guilty for not feeling like or acting like yourself. It is in these times you discover yourself, your strength, you discover meaning and resiliency and all you need to live a good life. You will look back on these times and be proud of the person you fought for ― you will be proud of you.”

I. Authenticity Is Everything

There is no one like you. There has never been anyone like you. There shall never be anyone like you.

  • Therefore, know yourself.

  • Be yourself.

Authenticity is everything.

II. Leadership Liberation

Here are 5 crucial things that leaders must break free from:

  1. Free yourself from the need to please others.

  2. Free yourself from negative self-talk and limiting thoughts and beliefs.

  3. Break free from needing to have all the answers.

  4. Break free from your past.

  5. The mother of all "Break Free" things is FEAR.

III. Attitude Is Everything

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

  • Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.

  • It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

  • We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.

  • The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.

IV. What We’re Excited About

Pouring Profits: Why whiskey as an asset class.

Invest Like the Greats — What do Thomas Jefferson, LeBron James, and the British royal family have in common? They all invested in wine and whiskey. And with good reason. According to Knight Frank, wine and whiskey have been two of the best-performing alternative assets of the last decade. See how Vinovest makes it easy to invest like the ultra wealthy today!

V. Question

How can I create moments of stillness in my day to reset and refocus?

VI. This Week, I Will

  1. Trust the timing of my life.

  2. Spend time uplifting people.

  3. Lean into the present moment.

  4. Focus on what is in my control.

  5. Distance myself from negative energy.

The Last Words…

“Here's what they don't tell you — you're never really going to figure it out. You're never going to figure out the world, or why the things that happened to you happened, or how to ensure that your future is faultless. You're never going to figure out how to perfect your existence, because it was never meant to be perfected. Instead, you will figure out how to move forward, day by day. You will figure out what kind of breakfast you like in the morning, and what kind of people you want by your side. You will figure out the places that make your soul feel at home, and sometimes those places will be human beings. You will figure out what ignites your passion, the things that you could see yourself doing every single day for ten, or twenty, or thirty years. You'll figure out how to say no, and how to stand up for yourself. You'll figure out how to forgive, and let go. You'll figure out exactly how you like to take your coffee. You'll figure out how to walk away, how to heal. You'll figure out how to live with yourself, how to be your own companion. You'll figure out how to be kind to even the most broken parts of yourself. See, you'll figure out how to embrace life. How to truly accept it, as it comes. And it won't always be easy, or cleancut; it won't always make sense, and you won't always have control. But it will be yours. It will be yours.”
